Pak Ambassador in UN accuses India of atrocities with Palestinian girl’s photo

Maleeha-LodhiNEW YORK: The Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Nations is under fire for showing a wrong picture while accusing India of committing atrocities in Kashmir.

Maleeha Ludin showed a picture of Palestinian girl who was injured in an airstrike in Gaza in 2014 as she claimed that the girl was shot with pallets by the Indian forces.

However, the authenticity of the picture was shortly ascertained with the issue being widely shared on social media.

Several social media users have also shared information regarding the picture as the Ambassador is being criticized for showing a wrong picture in an attempt to attract the world attention into the alleged human rights violations by India in Kashmir.

The photo was reportedly taken award-winning photographer Heidi Levine inside the Gaza strip in 2014.

The photo has also appeared in many photo galleries posted online, including by the New York Times and the Guardian.
