PESHAWAR: Head of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan said that he had visited Kabul accompanying other Pashtun political leaders with a view to break the impasse on the peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Following his return from Kabul, Asfandyar Wali said in an interview with Mashal Radio that it is beyond what
Sartaj Aziz is capable to clean the muddy water between Kabul and Islamabad.
Asfandyar added that he has asked President Ghani to let the doors open for talks on peace and reconciliation, while from Nawaz Sharif he has demanded that Pakistan must recognize and respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan.
He said that the trust deficit between the two countries could only be resolved by the responsible authorities in both countries and there exist elements in both countries who do not allow the peace process to make any progress. “If before April in the next 
year the two countries failed to reach an agreement on the peace process, there is a fear that we may face situation in the two countries such as in Syria,” he said.
Meanwhile Akram Khpalwak, adviser to president Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai told VOA that Afghan president has agreed to see Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in Climate Conference in Paris today. However, he added that first Ashraf Ghani will discuss with Nawaz Sharif about the undeclared war by Pakistan in Afghanistan. If President Ghani get a satisfactory answer from Pakistan then it can make way for further talks.
